胆固醇(Cholesterol)又称胆甾醇,是一种类脂化合物,系环戊烷多氢菲的衍生物。胆固醇广泛存在于 动物体内,尤以脑及神经组织中最为丰富,在肾、脾、皮肤、肝和胆汁中含量较高。胆固醇是哺乳动物中主要 的甾体类化合物,在基本的细胞生命活动中起到重要作用。
